Larry’s Powder Alert Feb 13, 2014

f_4ea4e07b37c87Lots more great snow ahead . Expect 2-5 feet for the Cascades, between now and Tuesday. Plus the snow is not coming all at once, but measured – about 5-12″ per day.

Yes, it’s the annual Presidents Day POWDER Sale!

I won’t be under forecasted – everything must go. Unbelievable  dumpage, and low financing. I must be crazy – feel free take advantage of the insane. We’ve got light powder, heavy powder, deep powder, windblown, groomers, even untracked powder.

Seriously, the whole weekend and especially Monday has true epic snow potential.

I know it’s Valentines Day on Friday, time to use your powder clause. However, if you hear the words “sure go ahead , have fun without me, I don’t mind” Please take note, the US Geological Volcano Observatory in Vancouver, Wa  has research to show that verbiage to be a precursor to  seismic event. Who’d a thunk it, the power of words?

Try a compromise, “I’ll be home by three; you’ll not even notice I’m gone”.  Of course, by then you may be permanently gone. Powder has a price. You are on your own, with this one.

Here how it will go down – I like every day and the snow to get better and better:

Friday (4am snow begins) – 5″ – 15″  for the day SL 4000, down to 2500 late in the day.

Saturday: Clearing, a break on Saturday – Great ski day

Another storm Sat night: 6-12″ SL 4000, dropping to 2000ft, by early Sunday.

Super Sunday, partial clearing – really good quality

More snow Sunday night —

Memorable Monday and Terrific Tuesday –  EPIC   7-16″ new

SL 1000-2000ft – great conditions.

Wonderful Wednesday and beyond look great, cool less snowfall…..

Grand Poobah

One more thing…
Avalanche danger is high. Don’t be a fool and go outabounds, cut ski patrol closed or roped areas. Respect signage.  Live to ride another powder day. The avalanche doesn’t care if you are an expert or you are ignorant.
