Powder Alert — Weather Update
November 21, 2013

Hello Powder People,
The good news is there are several ski areas open. Stevens, Crystal, Baker have skiing  – check their web sites, for details. Expect early season conditions, with a few thin spots – kayakers would call it boney. The mountain will not be completely open, but do expect respectable groomers. There might be spots showing a bit of shrubbery. It will be a tad cool, but expect plenty of sunshine for the next week – bring the shades. Let er rip.

The not so good news is this high pressure controlling our current weather will keep us dry for at least another week – lasting longer than your Thanksgiving Day leftovers. A dry spell is unusual for this time of year – this is normally our stormiest period.

You may think your Poobah has lost his powder mojo, but no, this will pass.

Here is how to really tell your weather forecaster is losing it….

  •   Claims high speed chair lift rides causing his “lake effect baldness”
  •   Points out erotic shaped cloud   formations to everyone in lift line
  •  Attempts to use Doppler to find untracked powder stashes
  •   Caught selling rain gauges out of trunk near Seahawks game
  •    Favorite Netflix series download is “Breaking Barometers”
  •   Paints green ski runs black, to boost self esteem

Sincerely,
Lawrence Schick
Your Poobah of Powder
